It’s the one time you’ll hear people say, “I only watch for the commercials.” AMA Philadelphia captures all the excitement and creativity of Super Bowl Sunday at our annual Super Bowl Smackdown event. It’s head-to-head action that’s just as exciting as the actual game.
We’re huddling up with some of the region’s top marketing experts who will pin product category commercials against one another and conduct a lively debate on their effectiveness. Do they effectively build brands, and are they a good marketing investment? Which brands scored big, and which flopped? The interactive discussion allows for audience engagement and voting – so come and share your own opinion as well!

As the President of Finch Brands, Bill Gullan is one of the marketplace’s premier brand developers. A world-class speaker, writer, and facilitator, Bill’s point of view is highly sought after by clients and in the worlds of media and academia. Across a nearly 20-year career, his work has influenced hundreds of brands – including particularly powerful recent successes for Everlast, Conair, and ThinkGeek.
Bob Clark, VP of Marketing @ Herr Foods
Mr. Clark is the Vice President of Herr Foods where he leads a team of talented marketers in planning, branding, innovation, and expansion initiatives for one of our region’s most recognized, beloved, and fastest growing, food companies. Mr. Clark’s own rise as a Marketing star included leadership roles at sector leaders Sara Lee, Kellog’s and Lipton. As the owner of his own firm, 24k Marketing, his consumer packaged goods Marketing expertise has assisted SC Johnson and other clients. He is a past President of the Philadelphia chapter of the Marketing Executives Networking Group. As an Adjunct Professor in Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, Mr. Clark lent his insights and expertise in Brand and Reputation Management to rising stars in the school’s MBA program. He received his own MBA from Drexel University and is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island College of Business Administration.
Ashley Dabb, Chief Marketing Officer @ the National Lacrosse League
As Chief Marketing Officer of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), Ashley Dabb oversees all branding, marketing and communications efforts and coordinates with PR, marketing and digital staff on each of the NLL’s nine teams across the U.S. and Canada. Under her leadership, the NLL’s digital footprint has expanded to include a live-streaming partnership with Twitter, a total rebranding including developing a new website, and the launch of NLL Productions and NLLTV.com, the League’s broadcast streaming platform and video hub that provides greater access and enhanced viewing experiences. Dabb is no stranger to the sports industry, having spent nearly a decade with the Philadelphia Union, Major League Soccer’s 16th franchise, where she most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
Heather DiPiazza, Associate Creative Director @ M
As Associate Creative Director for M, Heather creates impactful, emotionally-driven work, and is best known for her enthusiasm and passion – qualities she brings to each and every project. She has collaborated on and guided creative for national brands including AARP, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Pep Boys and Siemens, as well as regional and clients, like The Waldorf School of Philadelphia, South Jersey Energy, International Schools Services, Delaware Park and Robbins Diamonds.
Edward Harris, Chief Marketing Officer @ the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board
Edward Harris is the Chief Marketing Officer at the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, representing Montgomery County, PA. Prior to joining the Tourism Board, Harris served in brand development leadership roles at a select group of iconic brands including Converse, Timberland, Under Armour, Destination Maternity Corporation, and eBay. Mr. Harris also serves as Chairman of the Marketing Advisory Board at the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University, where he is an adjunct professor. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Harris holds an MBA from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Saint Joseph’s.
